My First " Baking" Result After Sec School... Keke
Browsed the website for tiramisu receipe. Seem easy enuff as there was actually no baking required. Just needed to beat the eggs, fold the cheese and fridge. But think I'm really not talented in cooking. Somehow " accidents" still happened:
1) Tried to beat the egg yolks and sugar together. Dunno why the sugar wont dissolve. I guess nobody like to eat sugar cube inside the tiramisu. Being a science student, I believe heat will solve the problem. So I placed the bowl of beaten egg yolk and sugar inside another basin of hot water and tried to beat the mixture again. Sobz =( Still the sugar wont dissolve!!! So I hecked care, and continued with the next step.
2) Folded the cheese with the egg yolk/sugar mixture. Keke, after I folded in the cheese, somehow the sugar just disappear! Chey, made me beat so long... stoopid receipe, neber said specifically not to be bothered with the undissolved sugar. Anyway, I folded in the cheese, dunno why the mixture was still yellow. So I kinda ended up with a yellow tiramisu instead of those creamy white one.
3) The next step was to fold in the beaten egg white. I kinda misread the receipe and just poured in the egg white. I dint beat enuff so instead of fluffy egg white mixture, mine was REALLY egg white with some white bubbles. But again the cheese mixture did the same miracle! The egg white disappeared as well.... Heng ar =p
4) I was supposed to dip the sponge fingers with coffee. But I kinda throw the sponge fingers inside the coffee. So my tiramisu actually had coffee liquid oozing out, coz too much coffee liao ... hahaha
Anyway, the main thing was ========> My tiramisu was still EDIBLE!!! It was really a MIRACLE!!

250g mascarpone cheese cost $6+
200g lady fingers $3+
2 eggs
cocoa powder or milo powder
100g sugar
Seperate the egg yolk and egg white
Beat the sugar and egg yolk together
Mix in the cheese
Fold in the (beaten) egg white
Dip the lady fingers into the coffee
Line the aluminium trayput with 1 layer of the egg/sugar/cheese mixture
Repeat until tray is full
Sprinkle on cocoa
P.S.
Personally, think can use less sugar since the lady fingers bought from Cold Storage were actually sweetened. ===================================================================

A LOooOOooG Day
A SuPerB LooOoOoog Day!!!
1) Today rushed like mad ( as usual -_-") to work. Missed my stop ( dunno somehow I lose my conscious, AND I remember clearly I Dint fall asleep leh!) and got to change at Raffles Place. While on the train from Raffles Place to City Hall, I realised I dint bring my cabinet key!! Alas! No choice, got to go home and take the key. Mind you, that was oreadi 830am and I supposed to report for work at 815am. Sobz sobz... SO I took train to Yishun, took a feeder bus, took my key, took another feeder bus and then the train back to City Hall. By the time I reached office, it was already 1030am... Heng, nobody knew I was late.. Phew
2) Lunch time went to Donut Factory. Wah Lau! Singaporean are really kiasu lor. The shop was not even opened yet, there was oreadi 8 to 10 pax queueing. I'm not kiasu okie?? I'm just curious and have to find out for myself how good those donuts are! I started queuing at 12pm, the shop opened around 1230pm and it was finally my turn at 130pm. A total of 90mins!!! First time I queued so long for food, kinda admire my patience..keke
Anyway under my thorough analysis, the reasons for such long wait are:
- The staff are simply too slow! Donuts very hard to make meh? Just some dough, poke a hole and stuff some fillings inside. So having a lot variety definitely not the reason for slow production!
- Singaporean are simply too kiasu! Usually ppl buy 1 or 2 donuts de mah, but then ppl at THIS DONUT SHOP buy 2 or more dozen lor! Like that, where got enuff to distribute??
- First 2 reasons combined and gave double impact! With people wanting to buy more and more variety, staff are slow at production, it means bottleneck at the counter coz buyers need to wait for the kind of donuts they want to buy! Each buyer minimum take around 5 to 10 minutes to close the deal.. Faintz Lor
3) I'm retyping this blog because stoopid blogger hang on me!!!!!
Anyway, time to show off my VICTORY!!!

New Year Resolution
It's the start of the year, yes again and oh NOooo! why so soon? I have many things undone and time is running out!! =( Sound pessimistic huh? Even as much as I wanna deny, but really cant hide the fact that now oreadi late 20+ liao. My career still in a daze, my bank account still pathetic and I have yet to achieve something I'm proud of myself.
Got to really do some planning, instead of leisurely passing time, and trying to fake myself by saying " There's alway tomorrow". Ok, one thing at a time:
This is really the hardest. It's so difficult to find sth that I like, can stay on for more than a year and pay me enuff to spend and save. Been job hopping so frequent that interviews are becoming more like a chore. I actually reiterate my " scripts" over and over again that I think I sound kinda insincere. But nevertheless, cant expect heaven to drop me a god-send job, so I guess back to " every-sat-browsing-Recruits-routine". Haiz...
I'm really bad at saving. Been working for almost 4 years, but think my bank account is not accelerating. Just today, I spent :-
- Dinner $15.30
- Dreamer Cafe $15.60
- Dessert $1.80
- Bdae Present $10
- Taxi Home $8
- Lunch ( Mac) $4.50
Wah Lau!! A TOTAL SUM OF $55, can??? Like that how to save??? So if wanna grow rich, saving is not the bestoption for me. I guess I need to EARN MORE! So back to square 1 --> Find a decent job, and of coz find some "sideline"
Somemore, after doing some trading, I seriously believe the rich will get richer theory.
For example, if a person has $5000, and the stock he bought rise 0.01 cents ( assuming each lot is $1.00 at cost), he will earn only $50. So less the brokerage fee, he basically earn nth or even negative return.
However, if a person has $500,000 , even if it rise 0.005, he can earn a sum of $2500. Equivalent to someone else monthly pay!!
Similary, if a person has only $5,000, got to think carefully before invest to ensure positive return. But if got $500,000, just " HUM DUM" la...rise 0.005 oso can earn mah!
3) Doing something satisfying
I'm not someone easily contented. Well, could be good, could be bad, depends on how you view it.
Term it in a good way, I'm ambitious, striving person. I just wanna do something, start a business or what. I cant tahan just work, be glad to be home at 6pm, watch tv and go bed and the whole cycle repeats itself. I really cant imagine just spending the rest of my life like that man.
Term it badly, I'm " Hao Gao Wu Yuan ". Think too highly of myself. Perhaps I'm just another ordinary person who meant to have an ordinary life : Get a job, decently save up for future, get married, have kids, grow old and die.
Time to stop procrastinating and DO STH NOW!

Start of the year, Good news. DM pregnant liao! That's so fast! She's the 1st to get married among us and the first to have a baby. So by July, we will be seeing a little boy/ger liao. She looks blissful with her marriage life and of coz with the anticipation of a new member in the family. So happy for her!! ^___^
And her 24 xiao hubby actually come and fetch her everytime we meet-up with her. Really rare species liao. He can be the Model BF and now Hubby liao. He will patiently wait for her 2 or 3 hours, while we happily eat dinner la, tok cock or wat. Then when we are going home, he will just "pop out". That's even before they get married and have baby lor. So paiseh now that we even got to extend the invitation to ask him along, in case he is waiting and wasting time somewhere else mah. Buai tahan, DM SO SO LUCKY! Keke
Well, anyway back to DM. Count count a bit...by then my bdae, her baby should be one month old liao. Faintz ar...so fast. But guess still exciting for us as well, yeah a baby for us to play! Haha, and less the hassle of taking care. =P

Another Xmas Feast!
[[ Starter ]]
An Apricot Apple Salad with grilled Watermelon
A refreshing salad with edible flowers imported from some country. The mix taste of sweet and sour just simply whet our appetite! ********* [[ Main Course]]
Tarragon Garlic Chicken
Chicken baked inside golden brown crust
Revealing whole chicken in tasty broth, but the meat was kinda dry.
Salmon crust with creamy sauce ( Ya, again! Our chef just love crusts ^^)
The crust was packed with goody salmon and air-flown mushroom. Love the sauce! It blended so well with the salmon that we just got to continue with another spoonful. And the waitress was nice enuff to give us extra serving of the sauce =)
********* [[ Dessert ]] Strawberry Pot Pie
Haha, another crust dish. Inside the crust, we found thick chocolate with strawberries bites, which added tinge of sour.
This was the best among all three! The top layer was crispy choco, while the bottom layer was super duper thick choco. Choco Fans would love this. Hmm, a bery different tiramisu. It's more cheesy than normal. So cheesy that the cheese seem to be a sponge cake. Well, hard to describle...least fav among us though.

Finally, a nice pot of tea to end the course. The owner was an expert in tea. Simply tell him how you would like the tea to make you feel, and he would make the best recommendation.

Real nice to meet up with Mag, Ker and YF. Cant imagine we have know each other for 3 years liao! WOW, rite?
It still seem yesterday that we were sitting at Level 29 Pantry, gossiping. I suppose because we seldom have the chance to see each other in office except for non-peak period, training etc. Without realising it, we have gone through 3 peaks, and YF is going for her 4th one.
Arghhhh!!!! Really scary ar. I dun mean the gers are scary...but time really travelled in the speed of double lightning! Soon, I will write another entry saying we know each other for 6 yrs, 9 yrs, 12 yrs etc etc... OMG, I'm feeling giddy liao... I suddenly dun like the idea of growing old.
Anyway, we decided to add " limbs" for the xmas tree!
